Here is a focus on Nooz' materials.

Transparency has always been one of the cornerstones of our communication, and always will be. No, transparency is not just important for your valuable glasses.…

We have chosen to communicate frankly and directly about the history of Nooz, the technology we have developed and our design process.

Now we' re continuing this trend by sharing with you the specifics of the materials we use to make our eyewear. Sharing the materials we use is one thing, but telling you why we chose them is another.

So here's everything you need to know about the various elements and materials that Nooz uses to create revolutionary blue light glasses, reading glasses and sunglasses.

Nylon frames

Nylon is a synthetic material, deriving from polyamide, which belongs to the category of polymers. It is the most widely used plastic for eyewear, but also for 3D printing. Nylon frames are impressively light, flexible and strong. They are even considered "unbreakable". Nylon frames are highly resistant to impact and heat up to 120°C, and they are also highly resistant to the weather. A solid guarantee of durability.

In addition, nylon is one of the few materials that allows for a smooth, non-grainy finish, and the choice of polishing allows for the adjustment of gloss or matte to your liking. Post-print colouring also offers a wide range of possibilities.

Stainless steel temples

Stainless steel combines two very high quality materials: steel, made from a mixture of iron and carbon, and stainless steel, which is an alloy of chromium and nickel.

We use stainless steel for its hardness, flexibility, anti- corrosiveness and mechanical strength.

The stainless steel temples have hypoallergenic properties and are an excellent compromise between lightness and strength: practicality without neglecting resistance to impact, wear and tear and accidents. This allows the temples to easily regain their original shape in the event of any deformation.

Polycarbonate lenses and case

Like nylon, polycarbonate is a polymer. In other words, it’s the result of the chemical reaction of a fusion of bisphenol A and a carbonate, which makes it more translucent, light and strong.

By using polycarbonate, our lenses are robust, impact resistant, scratch resistant and resistant to everyday incidents, and remain intact for many years. But that's not all: these lenses offer natural UV protection, as polycarbonate effectively filters out these light rays.

Polycarbonate lenses are also thinner, more comfortable than conventional lenses (especially organic ones) and offer a wide range of frame choices.

Also made of polycarbonate, Nooz cases perfectly protect our glasses. Heat, humidity, liquid spilled on it, falling in the sand at the beach: not a single drop of water or grain of sand can get inside. Moreover, the high impact resistance of polycarbonate gives our cases the best possible protection, while remaining very light and of unequalled thinness (14 mm thick).

The various materials we use to manufacture each part of our eyewear have all undergone extensive research and development and have been thoroughly tested. Our main priority is to serve eyewear wearers by offering them models that are increasingly in line with our philosophy: simplicity, practicality, innovation and quality. We create and develop each product with the highest possible standards.
